The Technical Museum in Stockholm – Play Beyond Play
In the Week from the 16th to the 22nd of March 2019 nine of the Erasmus+ students of our project group about “ The Olympic Spirit – Playing For Respect” from the German Bettine-von-Arnim Gesamtschule took part in a journey to Uppsala, Sweden. There we met pupils from the other participating nations Sweden, Poland and Italy.
On Monday, the 18th we all went to the Technical Museum in Stockholm where we all visitied the game related exhibition “play beyond play”. This way we got to know a lot about the gaming history and many different game ideas.
In the beginning of the trip the pupils had time to visit the museum and the exhibition on their own. It took us round about one hour. Then we had a nice lunch at the museum’s restaurant.
After that we went to a presentation and participated in a cooperative game called “rescue mission”. Our task in this game was to rescue board game figures from a burning island. The most important point was that we had to do it as a group. We couldn’t get closer than two meters to the island and had to use specific material to create our “rescue tools”.
As a result we had many exciting and successful rescue missions from all the different international groups. After that we had another two hours to visit the museum and play games there.
It was a lot of fun.
